If anybody using the iPhone as a paper weight?..I think a good news waiting for them.Every iphone users know that,If they are connect their iPhone to PC or MAC the clever iTune will give a very clever option that is ” The latest Software available Click here for update” . Some stupids like me will accidentally ??!! update the iphone and screwed. In India, more than 60% iPhones are jail broken.If anybody try to update the iPhone 2G,3G or 3GS from old version [3.0, 3.0.1] of OS to newer version [3.1, 3.1.2] of OS, they should use their iPhone as a paperweight till today night[03/11/2009]..!!
Good news is ,The developer of Blackra1n “GeoHot” announced that he will launch latest Haktivation tool for iPhone named BlackSn0w.

There is good news for those of you who accidentally updated their iPhone to firmware 3.1.2 in iTunes
and updated the baseband to 05.11.07. After being offered a bounty of $10,000, GeoHot started working on BlackSn0w, an unlock for the iPhone 3.1.2 baseband 05.11.07, and it seems he’s getting closer to finding a solution.
When I see how shaky BlackRa1n is, I will probably stay away from BlackSn0w and I will patiently wait for the Dev Team to release an update to UltraSn0w. That’s just me though.
Are you eager to get your hands on BlackSn0w? Will you use BlackSn0w, or like me, will you wait for the Dev Team to release their own iPhone unlock?

Well considering I have AT&T I won’t be using either lol! But I am interested in switching to verizon due to a larger vast of 3G network. What r they downfalls of leaving AT&T with a iPhone do things not work on the phone like they use to anything? And if someone out there has verizon with iPhone about how much is bill compared to AT&T and what is the 3G network like compared to AT&T!!!
I’d use it, though I don’t need to as I’m with O2. But geogot is a briliant hacker and is clearly ahead of the rest. Jailbreaking is not for the simple minded and they should understand the consiquencies of that. People always want things place easily on platter freely for use, but this is not the world we live in, with venture capitalist and the lot.
I’d definately use it, purely out of interest and curiosity.
Geohot is the best hacker out there, you may no want to admit that, but that’s your problem isn’t it?

I jailbroke many iPhones with blackrain. Everyone of them never had problems. I have said that blackrain by geohot is the best the fastest the easiest jailbraik that has ever been built by any group or single hacker. We all have to say thank you to geohot, respect and support all his hard work.
Is very sad to see some of you including the owner of this blog trying to create confusion and mis-informing information about his work, for reasons that are not to clear to me.
Doesent matter that everything regarding iPhone jailbraik or unlock is here because of mostly his work. Doesent matter that it has been free. Doesent matter that it has been allmost right away after every apples major upgrade. Doesent matter that a lot of devs team so called hackers have said that u will never be able to unlock iPhones latest baseband.
All u do is talk crap about him and his work. All I got to say is that u guys are comunists and always will find ways to disrespect good work by good people.
I also use Blacrain on my 3G os3.1 and baseband 5.11 for 2 weeks,and it works perfectly, also i would like to thanks GeoHot because Blacrain is the easiest and fastest way for jailbreaking 3.1,you just download some 8 mb,conect Iphone to pc,and click ˝makeitRain˝ and it is over in 2 minutes, than you turn wireles on and open icon BlackRain and it installs cydia in 2 minutes,

imageGeorge has declared today that sn0w day as he’ll be releasing blacksn0w with blackra1n RC3. blacksn0w is the first ever unlock for 05.11.07 baseband on the iPhone. The change log as well as instructions are now available. As promised, here’s the complete guide on how to hacktivate your iPhone 3G/3GS with blackra1n RC3.
* Download the latest version of iTunes.
* Connect your iPhone to your PC/Mac and upgrade to iPhone OS 3.1.2
* Download blackra1n. ( Chose the correct version for your OS )
* Run the app and click on the make it ra1n button.
* Let it do its job and once your iPhone reboots, the blackra1n app will be there in the Springboard. Run it and install blacksn0w.
If you already had blackra1n installed on your iPhone, run the app and you’ll see ‘ra1n’ instead of Icy. Upgrade by tapping it. After the upgrade, it’ll show ‘sn0w’ in the options. Install it and youriPhone will be unlocked.
blacksn0w will also be released via Cydia later today so those who jailbroke using pwnage tool or deleted the blackra1n app will be able tounlock their iPhones easily.

Hi, first I want to thank the Dev-Team for their great job !! I live in Japan and use the Softbank carrier. My I-Phone is the 32GS with 3.1.2 and unlocked and jailbroken with Blackrain and Blacksnow (Windows). Problem is, for the 3rd time in a few months, my phone suddenly stops working. It suddenly freezes and if you restart it then the only thing you see is the white apple mark with the phone that for hours tries to restart itself (and it won’t). Until now I had no problem, I just restored it and then I just had to jailbreak and unlock it again….If I try to RESTORE it now I have only 2 choices from I-Tunes : (1) restore and UPDATE (which automatically updates to 3.1.3 doh) or (2) cancel (which of course means you keep your broken I-Phone) Can somebody give me a good advise on what to do please ?? I’m quite desperate…
Go to iTune and Press shift key on your keyboard and click on restore, then you can locate your customized software
My ipod 1G is our essential iPod, Pda and far more, and also has happen to be since I recieved it.
