Supercharged V8 engine
A Supercharged 4.2 liter V8 engine makes this the most powerful Range Rover ever made. And also the most refined: with 396bhp, it offers 40 percent more power, over 25 percent more Torque and more immediate, supple delivery of acceleration across the range than the previous top-of-the-range model.

New TDV8 engine
With 54 percent more power and 64 percent more Torque than the previous diesel, the new TDV8 Range Rover offers effortless, refined V8 cruising.

6-speed automatic transmission
Upgraded from a 5-speed to a 6-speed automatic with Command Shift™, the Supercharged 4.2 litre 396bhp V8 with new transmission has 30 percent fewer components for seamless changes and exceptionally high Torque for even greater responsiveness.

Brembo braking system
Effortless control and consummate power are the hallmarks of an advanced braking system. Brembo front brake discs provide The Range Rover Supercharged and new TDV8 derivatives with superb power of response for a confident, assured drive.

Electronic park brake
For effortless operation and even greater interior space, an electronic park brake replaces the space-consuming conventional hand brake lever in the centre console area. It is engaged by a simple pull of a switch.

Electronic Traction Control (ETC)
Four-wheel Electronic Traction Control monitors individual wheel speeds and helps ensure that drive is distributed to the wheels with the best grip. When a wheel starts to spin, ETC sends braking pulses to slow it down, improving its grip and boosting the Torque applied to the opposite wheel.

Electronic ´e´ differential
All models have a new electronic centre ´e´ differential and a new electronic rear differential is standard on the Supercharged and optional on other derivatives to ensure all available grip is utilised to the maximum.

Terrain Response®
Rest assured, driving with confidence over challenging terrain has never been easier - just turn the dial to the appropriate icon and, whether you´re cruising on tarmac, driving over deep ruts, grass, snow, mud or sand, experience total comfort and control.

Climate control air-conditioning
The air-conditioning system has been comprehensively revised, to offer improved cooling, better airflow distribution, lower noise and greater comfort levels. The new 9 kW evaporator (replacing a 7.8 kW version) enables 15 per cent more heat to be removed from the cabin.

Heated steering wheel
Driver comfort is an important aspect of The Range Rover´s exceptional driving environment. Available as standard on The Range Rover Supercharged, Vogue and Vogue SE. The Range Rover´s heated steering wheel provides a pleasant feel even in the lowest temperatures.

Heated and cooled seats
Front seats now offer an optional cooling function, for the ultimate in control over your driving comfort, where Oxford or Windsor leather seats are specified.  Seat temperature is adjusted using rotary seat controls mounted on the centre console adjacent to the other climate control functions. Rotating the control to the left provides cool air, whilst rotating to the right provides warm.

Electronic memory seats
All Range Rovers have heated power front seats with driver memory that includes settings for the steering column and door mirrors. For the ultimate in sumptuous luxury, Full Windsor leather seats with perforated inserts are available exclusively for The Range Rover Vogue SE.

Starting out as a model in the Rover Company's product range, the Land Rover brand developed, first as a marque, then as a separate company, developing a range of four-wheel drive capable vehicles under a succession of owners, including British Leyland, British Aerospace and BMW. In 2000, the company was sold by BMW to the Ford Motor Company, becoming part of their Premier Automotive Group. On 2008-03-26 Ford and Tata Motors announced an agreement that Ford would sell its Jaguar Land Rover operations to Tata. On 2008-06-02 the sale to Tata was completed by both parties.

On 11 June 2007, Ford announced that its plan to sell Land Rover, along with Jaguar. A UK based private equity firm, Alchemy Partners, besides Tata Motors and Mahindra and Mahindra (both from India) have expressed interest in purchasing Jaguar and Land Rover from the Ford Motor Company. On March 26, 2008, Ford announced that it has agreed to sell its Jaguar and Land Rover operations to Tata Motors, and that the sale was expected to be completed by the end of the second quarter of 2008. On June 2, 2008 the sale to Tata Motors was completed by both parties. Included in the deal were the rights to three other British brands, Jaguar's own Daimler, as well as two dormant brands Lanchester and Rover.
