"Satanism is not a white light religion; it is a religion of the flesh, the mundane, the carnal - all of which are ruled by Satan, the personification of the Left Hand Path."
The Satanic Bible, The Book Of Lucifer:p:52

Satan is not a real, living entity, conscious or a physical thing that can be interacted with. It is a symbol, something ethereal, something that basically doesn't exist except as an emotional attachment and personal dream. Just like Buddhists do not worship Buddha, Satanists hold up Satan as an ultimate principal rather than an object of literal worship. Satan inspires and provokes people, like all (honest) religions the ultimate point is self-help. God believers have a different opinion on what Satan is, but their opinion is a result of their religion. Satanism's Satan is much more miscellaneous and multicultural than to be defined by Christianity or Islam
When most people think of Satanism, images of Demons, Sacrifices, and Animal mutilations usually come to mind. Most people assume that Satanists embrace evil, aren’t capable of loving, and that Satanism is nothing more than inverse Christianity. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

Satan by definition is the Adversary, or the Opposition. Satanists oppose the Status quo, and the closed minded herd mentality that fuels stupidity and ignorance like a social cancer. Instead, they embrace Intellect, Objectivism, Individuality, and Rational self interest.

You are the only person who has control over your life, no "God" will make your life better for you. That is what Satanists say. Satanists do not believe in things we cannot see, and includes "Satan." Satanists do not worship Satan just as most Buddhists do not worship Buddha.

"Then why the name Satanism?" that will be the question which arise in mind. According to Satanists point of view, Satanism is quite the opposite, hence the term "Adversary". That is their quite simple answer for the name!

Satanism is not in any way Devil-worshipping. In fact, the word Satan was chosen for many reasons, but none was for the approval of the worst acts that man could commit to another. The word "Satan" originates from a transliteration of the Hebrew word "an opposer" or "an accuser" or “the rebel”. And therefore a Satanist is someone who follows this route - the opposition.

Satanism is the acknowledgment of man’s best and worst, and that there is no supreme God that rules you. Between religions and within religions, people have their own personal idea of what god is.

Each individual has created their own god, in accordance with their own imagination and experience, and such a god is purely a projection of the ego. Satanists use the symbol of Satan as a representative of various philosophical ideas, social instincts, intellectual ideals and theological statements.

Satanism means "the opposition" and epitomizes all symbols of nonconformity. Satanism calls forth the strong ability to turn a liability into an advantage, to turn alienation into exclusivity.

Satan is not a real, living entity, conscious or a physical thing that can be interacted with. It is a symbol, something ethereal, something that basically doesn't exist except as an emotional attachment and personal dream.

Satan is not a conscious entity to be worshipped, rather it is a name for the reservoir of power inside each human to be tapped at will.

That all good is based on evil: That love and altruism are both selfish and carnal. Satan represents all of this evil which in turn creates all good. Without our evil sides we are lost and Satan represents acceptance of this.

Satan tells mankind: Search for knowledge, even in taboo places. Satan represents doubt. The role of Satan is very much relevant to our lives and our search for knowledge. Without the wonderful element of doubt, the doorway through which truth passes would be tightly shut.

In Satanism, Satan is an archetype, a representation of certain qualities that the Satanist embodies including rational self-interest, avoidance of oppressive mentalities, the questioning of all, and a perseverance towards success and human potential.

"Man has always created his gods, rather than his gods creating him" (The Satanic Bible: part of Book of Lucifer 1:1).

Modern Satanism

The Origin of Satanism is traced back thousands of years in various false forms. In some literature Satanism is regarded as a literal worship of various Demons and Deity’s. But, Modern Satanism can only be traced back to 1966 when Anton LaVey shaved his head, performed a ritual and declared the formation of the “Church of Satan.”

In 1969 LaVey wrote the Satanic Bible which would prove to be the bedrock for modern Satanism. To date it has sold nearly 1,000,000 copies world wide and has been translated into several languages.

Satanism has always been about being an individual, it therefore makes sense that regardless of organizational politics. The primary focus should be on the individual. It has become a bit cliché yet it still hold true that you do not have to join any organization to be a Satanist. Only you can determine where you want to go in life. Satanism is the Bedrock philosophy of human existence.

Satan is a metaphor that symbolizes all the things in life that are necessary for survival. Satanism is the worship of the self, it is an existentialist movement where we admit that there is no way of experiencing an objective reality and that everything we do is clouded by our own imperfect perceptions. Satanism is, amongst other things, the worship of clarity and overcoming self deceit.

Satanists are concerned with living life and enjoying the things that make life worth living for them, and have no need for all of the bells and whistles and pointless esoterica offered by most religions. Satanism is straightforward; it was designed to avoid the countless interpretations and intentionally muddled 'mystery' of other religions.

The real exploration that Satanism offers is an exploration of the self. When a Satanist comes across The Satanic Bible, it often instantly resonates with the individual as truth easily observable in the world around him. The challenge comes in looking at one's own life through this lens and applying Satanism to achieve what one truly desires.

Many Satanists use as their main symbol the Sigil of Baphomet. It is a goat's  head, drawn within an inverted pentacle (5-pointed star with one point downward and two up, enclosed by a circle). Although elements within the Sigil have been in use since the 19th century, the version as shown has been a registered trademark of the Church of Satan since 1983.
A second Satanic symbol appears above the Nine Satanic Statements in  LaVey's book: The Satanic Bible, page 25. It is an infinity sign (a figure 8 on its side). A shortened Lorraine Cross is placed on top. [A Lorraine cross is a Roman '†' cross, with a second, longer cross piece added below the main cross piece.] This is an ancient symbol which alchemists -- many of whom were Satanists -- used to represent brimstone. Brimstone is the element sulfur, and was long associated with Satan by the Christian church. LaVey might have adopted a brimstone symbol as a humorous gesture to poke fun at Christianity.
Satan is the dark force in nature. Satanism is called dark or evil by many because unlike white-light religions it does not try to isolate what is "good" from what is "evil". There is no cosmic struggle between good and evil; all is gray and natural goodness is dependent and the same as natural evil.

Satanism has denominations and widely varying beliefs. If there was a god, it would probably be an evil one. Satan is inseparable from good. It only exists in our limited minds as we try and explain the world. A Satanist does not treat Good/Bad as Light/Dark. The descriptions are subjective. The Dark Force cannot be avoided, tamed, ignored or resisted against. We create it as we view the world. We feel it all the time - it is our ego, our intelligence and our errors all warping to form our observed reality. It is the potential for nothingness that exists wherever there is something. It is real life, necessity and materialism.
"Most Satanists do not accept Satan as an anthropomorphic being with cloven hooves, a barbed tail, and horns. He merely represents a force in nature - the powers of darkness which have been named just that because no religion has taken these forces out of the darkness"
Anton LaVey, The Satanic Bible Book of Lucifer IV

The Nine Satanic Sins

1) Stupidity (Foolishness) - The top of the list for Satanic Sins. This is termed as the Cardinal Sin of Satanism. It's too bad that stupidity isn't painful. Ignorance is one thing, but our society thrives increasingly on stupidity. It depends on people going along with whatever they are told. Satanists must learn to see through the tricks and cannot afford to be stupid.

2) Pretentiousness - Empty posturing can be most irritating and isn't applying the cardinal rules of Lesser Magic.

3) Solipsism – It can be very dangerous for Satanists. Projecting your reactions, responses, and sensibilities onto someone else who is probably far less attuned that you are. It is the mistake of expecting people to give you the same consideration, courtesy, and respect that you naturally give them. They won't.

4) Self-Deceit (Self Cheating) - It is another cardinal Satanic sin. We must not pay homage to any of the sacred cows presented to us, including the roles we are expected to play ourselves. The only time self-cheating should be entered is when it is fun, and with awareness. But then, it's not self-cheating!

5) Herd Conformity (Group Traditionalism) - That's obvious from a Satanic stance. Only fools follow along with the herd, letting an impersonal entity dictate to you.

6) Lack of Perspective (Lack of Viewpoint)
- You must never lose sight of who and what you are, and what a threat you can be, by your very existence.

7) Forgetfulness of Past Orthodoxy's - Be aware that this one of the keys to brainwashing people into accepting something as "new" and "different," when in reality it's something that was once widely accepted but is now presented in a new package.

8) Counterproductive Pride - The first word is important. Pride is great up to the point you begin to throw out the baby with the bathwater. The rule of Satanism is if it works for you, great. When it stops working for you, when you've painted yourself into a corner and the only way out is to say, "I'm sorry, I made a mistake, I wish we could compromise somehow," then do it

9) Lack of Aesthetics - This is the physical application of the Balance Factor. It is important in Lesser Magic and should be cultivated. Aesthetics is a highly personal thing, reflective of one's own nature, but there are universally pleasing and harmonious configurations that should not be denied

The Eleven Satanic Rules of the Earth

1. Do not give opinion or advice unless you are asked.
2. Do not tell your troubles to others unless you are sure they want to hear them.
3. When in another's lair, show him respect or else do not go there.
4. If a guest in your lair annoys you, treat him cruelly and without mercy.
5. Do not make sexual advances unless you are given the mating signal.
6. Do not take that which does not belong to you unless it is a burden to the other person and he cries out to be relieved.
7. Acknowledge the power of magic if you have employed it successfully to obtain your desires. If you deny the power of magic after having called upon it with success, you will loose all you have obtained.
8. Do not complain about anything to which you need not subject yourself.
9. Do not harm children.
10. Do not kill non-human animals unless attacked or for your food.
11. When walking in open territory, bother no one. If someone bothers you, ask him to stop. If he does not stop, destroy him.
As per Satanism, each person is their own redeemer, fully responsible for their own life. Uniqueness and creativity are encouraged in Satanism. It advices to search for knowledge. In this present society what is the role of Satanism? How many of you are an indirect Satanist? Do you think that human beings are free from satanic mentality?

Instead of closed minded herd mentality that fuels stupidity and ignorance, if Satanism embrace Intellect, Objectivism, Individuality and Rational self interest, what we can call ourselves as we are following all these things without knowing these all are Satanists’ ideologies..!! You can express your point of views…
