'SANGAM’, the Spirit of GALA Anniversary Celebration at the Cunningham and BagmaneTech Park offices of HP. Bangalore
Anniversaries are for celebrations. If the celebrators are youngsters, the color will be fantastic. By taking all their efforts these youngsters will make simple happenings as a big event. That is the spirit!! Spirit of gala!!
Hewlett Packard held ‘Sangam’, their annual event for employees at the Ballroom of The Chancery Pavilion on Wednesday, December 5, 2007. ‘Sangam’ themed around the fact that HP considers all its employees ‘stars’ saw around 600 ‘stars’ from the Cunningham and Bagmane Tech Park offices of HP come together and exhibit their talent.
According to sources, pre- event competitions began long before the event, with prizes being decided for a Rangoli contest, “Best Dressed”, Painting, etc. The event itself witnessed a spirited performance from the ‘stars’ in songs, dances, skits and a fashion show.
The event was held in grandeur. In lieu with the ‘star’ theme, the entire ballroom was decorated with stars and lights with an impressive stage at the helm. In true ‘star’ style, guests who walked in were interviewed at the entrance and quizzed about their level of excitement for the evening. A gaming area took the brunt of all the excitement before the start of the event with guests fighting hard to win some gift coupons. A live camera recorded all the excitement and displayed the same in then main hall where the other guests were seated.
Rich Forcier, Lab Director at HSSL formally welcomed the guests and spoke about how together, they were able to achieve great heights every day.
The evening began with popular songs from Hindi, English and Kannada by HP’s star singer Veda and her troupe. The songs broke into dance with classical dances, folk dances, salsa, bollywood, etc are enthralling the audience. Hilarious skits followed including Don 3, a spoof of the popular Bollywood movie. A fashion show with ethnic and casual wear was the highlight of the evening with an almost professional performance by the ‘stars’.
The event was coordinated by Acme Events India, an event management firm gaining immense popularity in the city. The staff of Acme Events India was seen in every aspect of the evening, ensuring that it went without a glitch. “Acme Events India is proud to have partnered with almost all major organizations in South India. On-time quality solutions and value for money have been our core offerings” says Geo, GM Business Development.
Acme Events India also brought in professional troupes from the industry to add further to the excitement to the evening. Kalaripayattu, a traditional martial art form from Kerala was the hit of the evening with the audience being spellbound at the tremendous reflexes and skill of the ‘warriors’.
A professional music troupe accompanied the singers and a choreographer hired exclusively for the event ensured that each performance was incredible. The evening witnessed several instant prizes being won by the audience for the most number of push-ups, tongue twisters, and mostly for just being quick on their feet.
What with the scrumptious meal at the end of the evening, the ‘stars’ truly had a well-deserved, splendid time that they closed with dancing the night away during what became the DJ nite. Foot-tapping English, Hindi and Kannada numbers were mixed perfectly by the DJ to keep the audience on their feet and swinging their hips. All in all, a night fit for the stars.
