The
Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008) Starring: Brendan Fraser, Jet Li, Luke Ford, Michelle Yeoh,
Maria Bello
Director: Rob Cohen
Genre: Action / Adventure
Release Date: August 1, 2008
Brendan
Fraser returns as explorer Rick O'Connell to combat
the resurrected Han Emperor (Jet Li) in an epic that
races from the catacombs of ancient China high into
the frigid Himalayas. Rick is joined in this all-new
adventure by son Alex ( Luke Ford), wife Evelyn (Maria
Bello) and her brother, Jonathan (John Hannah). And
this time, the O'Connells must stop a mummy awoken
from a 2,000-year-old curse who threatens to plunge
the world into his merciless, unending service.
Doomed by a double-crossing sorceress (Michelle Yeoh)
to spend eternity in suspended animation, China's
ruthless Dragon Emperor and his 10,000 warriors have
laid forgotten for eons, entombed in clay as a vast,
silent terra cotta army. A mummy awoken from a 2,000-year-old
curse, and whose army was found by 18-year old Alex.
The Emperor now wishes to rebuild his empire, and
threatens to plunge the world into his merciless,
unending service with his Terracotta Army. Their chances
of stopping him are thin, for the Emperor has not
only an army of great magnitude, but controls the
five elements.
The undead Terracotta Army faces another, smaller,
raised-from-the-dead army made of the Dragon Emperor's
enemies, who died when they were crushed under the
Great Wall of China. But when dashing adventurer Alex
O'Connell is tricked into awakening the ruler from
eternal slumber, the reckless young archaeologist
must seek the help of the only people who know more
than he does about taking down the undead: his parents.
In "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor,"
the trademark thrills and visually spectacular action
of the "Mummy" series will be redefined
for a new generation.
"The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor"
is helmed by director Rob Cohen and written by Alfred
Gough & Miles Millar.

Madsen, Eric Balfour, Vinnie Jones, Leonor Varela,
Dennis Hopper, David Carradine
Director: Larry Bishop
Genre: Action / Thriller
Release Date: August 8, 2008
HELL
RIDE is a raucous throwback to the days of the Sergio
Leone spaghetti western, with a heaping helping of
testosterone-fueled chopper action thrown into the
mix. Writer/director Larry Bishop takes on a third
role as Pistolero, head honcho of the Victors, a group
of badass bikers who are out to avenge the murder
of one of their members at the hands of the 666ers,
a rival gang whose actions live up to their hellish
moniker. Along with his cohorts, the Gent (deviously
portrayed by Michael Madsen) and the mysterious Comanche
(Eric Balfour), Pistolero aims to take down the Deuce
and Billy Wings, menacing leaders of the 666ers, but
a mutiny looms on the horizon when his commitment
to profit is questioned by a few of his fellow Victors.
An even larger story unravels when previously unknown
information about Comanche resurrects ghosts from
Pistolero’s past.
Although there is enough sex, violence, and all-out
machismo to keep grind-house fans firmly plastered
to their seats, Bishop’s take on the genre strays
far from exploitation as he weaves a twisting, multilayered
tale of revenge, loyalty, and brotherhood that is
brought to life by a superb ensemble cast, with memorable
performances by Dennis Hopper, Vinnie Jones, and David
Carradine. The road to hell is paved with anything
but good intentions.

the powers that be devise a grisly game that will
free up space in the cells on and entertain the masses
at the same time.

and flamethrowers in a desperate attempt to outrun

Allen, Ian McShane, Natalie Martinez, and Tyrese Gibson,

by Sylvester Stallone in the original. ~ Jason Buchanan,
